Aromatherapy muscle strain remedy
Recently I’ve been absorbed with learning about natural beauty and remedies. Waking up with sore muscles after an intense workout the day before, and then having my daughter complain of sore muscles after a few hours of dance, I decided to look into massage oils. They are actually very easy and inexpensive to make at home. Here is a muscle strain remedy that I got from Seasons of Aromatherapy by Judith Fitzsimmons & Paula M. Bousquet.
10 drops Eucalyptus
10 drops Peppermint
10 drops Rosemary
Mix all oils together. Use in any of these ways:
- Put 10 drops into 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and massage the affected area. The ideal time to do this is after a warm bath and before bedtime.
- Put 8 drops into a bath. Relax your cares away while you deep soak the strain from your muscles.
If you are new to aromatherapy, like me, and are still looking for some of the oils, 10 drops of eucalyptus oil or camphor to 2 tablespoons of massage oil should also help for muscle aches.

I do get sore muscles from time to time and have been meaning to research aromatherapy. Can’t wait to try it - thanks for the simple recipe!
I am covered with sore muscles this week!!! This sounds great!
Let me know how it works for you, and if you try any experimenting! Eucalyptus has so many uses!
Good to see an Aussie Product at work. Eucalyptus lollies are great when you’ve got a cold as well! Regards Peter
Hi Peter,
I’ve been seeing some pretty pictures of your native land as I’ve been researching it. Apparently, it was first cataloged on Captain Cook’s expedition… I wonder if I could grow a eucalyptus tree as a house plant ???? hmm… You’re so lucky to have them in your back yard!
Yes, you Aussie’s can take credit for it
Best regards!
Hi! Eucalyptus trees which grow very big outdoors can be used indoors as bonsai exhibits. I didn’t know that myself until I looked it up! Regards - Peter!
Thanks for the link on Australian bonsai trees Peter!
I’d like to post the link here:

Now I have another 2 goals to add to my list: learn about bonsai trees, and acquire (and keep healthy!) a eucalyptus…
Best regards!
