Gratitude

Today may we appreciate this food and remember those who are hungry.
May we appreciate our family and friends and remember those who are alone.
May we appreciate our health and remember those who are sick.
May we appreciate the freedoms we have and remember those who suffer injustice and tyranny.
Peace on earth.

The mind-body connection: Grateful people are generally more optimistic. Gratitude helps us deal with stress, benefiting the heart and immune system. Grateful people have been found to take better care of themselves in general, which means regular exercise and a more balanced diet.

I have a better day when I begin by remembering my blessings. As today is Thanksgiving for us in Canada, I will share with you what I am grateful for:

  • Loved ones
  • Readers: you encourage me even though we may not have met in person yet…
  • Health
  • Guardian angels
  • Access to literature and education
  • Beauty of nature, oceans, sunsets, sunrises
  • The universe, Sun, Moon, Our Mother Earth
  • Freedom of choice
  • Life
  • Changing seasons
  • Clean drinking water
  • Food
  • All senses
  • Music
  • Creativity and imagination
  • Technology: it puts a world of information at our fingertips, as well as the ability to keep in contact with loved ones
  • Unexpected random acts of kindness

Well, it’s a start…

Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. You have a wonderful list of things for which to be grateful. If ever I experience an unbalanced moment, I always stop myself and think of all I’m grateful for.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Thanks Keli! :)
