Budokon beginning practice - review
Lately I’ve been checking out this new budokon workout, by Cameron Shayne. Cameron is a high-ranking black belt in a couple of different martial arts, and has studied hatha yoga and meditation as well. This workout is 20 minutes of yoga (very similar to the ashtanga I’ve been doing) followed by 20 minutes of martial arts and a short meditation. From the back cover:
“In a single 40-minute workout, get the effects of high intensity, low impact total-body cardio plus strength training, yoga and mental-focus techniques. Create lean muscle without bulk — and feel invincible.”
I’ve never done any real martial arts classes, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to keep up with this workout. Cameron is a thorough teacher and I found this workout very do-able from the first time. The yoga felt familiar to me, and when it got to the martial arts, there were only a few seconds where I felt lost. This is the ‘cardio’ part of the workout. It is amazing how much control and power is required! This workout inspires me to explore martial arts a little further.

Thats the way I want to look! ;-D
Would help my cause if I did my practice everyday! Danny
