Keeping motivated

One of my challenges is keeping motivated. Here are 10 tips for staying motivated in bellydance (but they can be helpful in any fitness routine) by Dolphina.

  1. Schedule workouts: this one really works for me-schedule your workout on your calendar!
  2. Dress up: accessories improve technique.
  3. Make it fun!
  4. Have the right attitude: this is an opportunity to pamper yourself.
  5. Be inspired: post photos or quotes where you will see them.
  6. Set goals (begin small!). Achieving goals is motivational.
  7. Reward yourself: with small gifts like new music or accessories.
  8. Obey the five-minute rule: commit to at least 5 minutes, with the option to stop after that. Getting started is the biggest hurdle.
  9. Don’t overdo it: listen to your body.
  10. Sign up for a class: as well as the commitment, you will also meet people and have fun.
